I came up with this rather confusing idea while sitting half-asleep in an actuary lecture (for those who don't know-my natural state

).
Some of us probably understand the time value of money (perhaps all too well, or not well enough, depending on who you are). Time is money. That intuitively makes perfect sense. So, how can time be worth more time?
The basic idea is that we should treasure the time we have now. We won't get another chance to relive our experiences-rather, we will most likely waste a significant amount of time reflecting on what we once had, if only we had realised how valuable it was then.
During which, we could quite possibly have been somewhere else, doing something else, with someone else (who knows?), filling in the gaping whole left behind by all our regrets.
And we all know there that will lead...
Bottom line, study hard, play hard, forget the past, treasure the present, but live for the future.
Hopefully, when that inevitable day comes when you have nothing else to do, you can look back, and think "A life well lived".
